Our stroke center was the first in the region to be designated as a Primary Stroke Center. That certification, issued by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), is a recognition of the hospital’s specially-trained physicians and staff, as well as the results of its Comprehensive Stroke Center.

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize this hospital for achieving 85% or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Performance Achievement indicators for consecutive 12 month intervals and 75% or higher compliance with 6 of 10 Get With The Guidelines Stroke Quality Measures to improve quality of patient care and outcomes.

The UK Stroke Program screens hundreds of individuals each year. If you are planning a community event and would like to offer a stroke risk screening, please complete the request form and e-mail it to Lisa Bellamy.
