Trauma reconstruction

Motor vehicle accidents, athletic events, and animal bites can lead to facial fractures and/or lacerations. Facial fractures commonly treated by Dr. Patel include those of the jawbone, cheekbone, eye socket, and brow bone. Proper healing requires fixation of these broken bones. Traumatic facial lacerations can cause facial nerve damage, injury to the tear duct or scarring. Complex suturing techniques utilized by facial plastic surgeons can greatly decrease the scarring suffered by laceration patients.
