    Breastfeeding is a natural way for new mothers to bond with their baby and provide the vital nutrition newborns need. But just like many aspects of having a baby, it’s not always easy the first time. Breastfeeding is an important skill to learn, and we’re here to help you.

  • Mommy and Me breastfeeding clinic

    Breastfeeding motherAvailable to all moms who want to breastfeed and are interested in a breastfeeding assessment by Kentucky Children's Hospital providers. During your visit, your baby will be weighed and examined by a doctor. A lactation consultant will work with you to develop a plan to meet your breastfeeding needs.

    Nursing your infant class

    Class focuses on the advantages of breastfeeding, proper positioning and latch-on, guidelines for adequate breastfeeding and how to prevent and resolve discomfort. Fathers or support persons are encouraged to attend. A certified lactation consultant teaches this class.

    Class times: One Thursday every other month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and one Saturday a month from 9 a.m. - noon.  

    Cost: $25 per couple
